And let’s not forget about these boring revolutionaries.

Little Amsterdam is overspilling with junkies, street punks and petty crime. Everywhere the casual visitor turns, they’re confronted with a ghostly grey figure with a bloody nose or a beggar holding out his cap for small change.

It should be noted that there really is nothing “Amsterdam” about this place. Anal-World Amsterdam is rich with culture and history. Van Gogh spent many years there; Spinoza, a figure of the early Enlightenment, was born there; the breathtaking architecture draws from Renaissance and Gothic traditions.

Little Amsterdam, however, has never read a book in its life, is covered in graffiti and puke, is littered with trash and crystal pipes, and the buildings look like a war-torn Medieval settlement. The stench is reminiscent of shit cake milkshake.

This tells us that the team working on these districts had never visited Amsterdam and the only thing they knew about it is that cannabis is as good as legal. However, the Netherlands is a fairly liberal country and Amsterdam is a relaxed, beautiful city. It couldn’t be any further removed from this Little Amsterdam. For research material we would’ve suggested that they visit Preston in the North of England instead.

Now we’ve got that out of the way, Little Amsterdam is still a good effort with a lot of action bubbling beneath the surface. Gunther is the main man, providing gourmet drugs to hungry customers 24 hours a day. He runs commercials at the Screamer Arena, boasting about how good his crystal is. However, a lack of adversaries has left him jaded.

Gunther has heard Chinese whispers that there’s a new kid in town looking for a slice of the crystal pizza. He has his best man Alberto trying to work out who this fella is. Meanwhile we already know that it’s To by; a rosey cheeked kid who wants to fulfil his lifelong ambition of serving up his own recipe for crystal pizza. He’s prepared to lose his life trying although he’s cocksure that he will bring the old man’s empire crashing down if he really has to.

And with a rare touch of tenderness, Little Amsterdam is the only district in Cyberia that has attempted to pull on the viewers’ heartstrings just a little bit. Jon Eric has also visited this district to confront his estranged father Gunther. He might beat him up, he might kill him with his knife or he might just hug it out, learn how to cook crystal and help to eradicate Toby.

Any number of things could happen and it’s all to play for.

We don’t have much to add regarding the Cyberian Underground Insurgent Network Terrorists (CUINT). We don’t even know why they were stationed in Little Amsterdam. The nuclear bunker could’ve been stationed in any of the districts.
