Brutus is one of the biggest bastards in Cyberia wearing a police uniform, pretending to be a cop. He’s really just a good old fashioned misanthrope who munches lots of crystal pizza on the job–usually confiscated from some street punk in Little Amsterdam–and goes looking for opportunities to thoroughly abuse his authority.

On a good day, Brutus kills two innocent Cyberians “by accident” and a third innocent Cyberian “also by accident but they deserved it.” He doesn’t even have to mop up or do any paperwork afterwards. He just calls the AI crime scene cleaners and tells them that a dispute over a sexbot got out of hand.

The only thing in life which Brutus loves is his Max Axe which is cut from the sharpest supercarbon known to man. It can slice through concrete like a spoon gliding through a slab of cherry and smoked cricket panna cotta.

But it is no longer open season for Brutus. For the last few months, he has sensed that somebody out there in the shadows is following him which can only mean one thing: a Cyberpig slayer wants him slaughtered!

Brutus has been studying the movement of The Bombay Butchers for quite some time; a ruthless gang which refuses to bribe the Cyberpigs to look the other way (you can read more about The Butchers here). However, their low-key approach to crime means they are notoriously difficult to pin down. When we first meet Brutus he has no idea that Jo Chi is even a member of The Butchers and thinks that the slayer is likely to be somebody else.

Anyone who plays the character of Brutus has access to his bionic eye which can supposedly detect danger within a square mile radius. The problem with this is that Jo Chi’s funky noise cancelling boots are undetectable. All he needs is one tiny slip and Brutus will be waking up in a place worse than hell.
