“Every day is a blessing when you’ve escaped the Roadkill Boondocks. That place is total trash.” -Tosh

District: Formerly Roadkill Boondocks, now the Pleasure Strip

Occupation: Cloak room attendant at Hanz’s D-gen Casino.

Tosh was accidentally born and abandoned in the godawful Roadkill Boondocks; a place so poor that people would fight to the death over the last can of baked beetles on a nomad’s market shelf.

Consequently, and like most of the kids in the district, Tosh began his life as a feral child. Like a pack of starving jackals, his gang would spend every waking minute scavenging for crumbs or looking out for someone to terrorise in the pursuit of crumbs.

One of his best buddies back then was Yan. The two looked out for each other until the day Tosh vanished in search of a better life. Yan was devastated, but he hoped one day his buddy would come back to rescue him.

Tosh hitchhiked his way to Megacorp Valley and ended up squatting in an abandoned skyscraper with some lowlife punks for a year. Even though he spent his days lying on a pissy mattress in a rat infested doss heap, hooked on crystal and covered in welts, it was the life of Riley compared to his bleak existence in the Boondocks. At least he had an endless supply of rats for company, he’d tell himself.

Knowing that he wasn’t cut out for making it in the Valley long-term, Tosh eventually decided to visit this fairytale district he kept hearing about. With nothing to lose, he told himself that he’d take a chance and see what it was all about. If he died along the way then that was a bonus.

When Tosh finally arrived, he found a job at Hanz’s casino no problem. While he regarded his employment as now living the high life, the reality is that Hanz had long learned from experience that poor migrant workers are far easier to exploit than native workers who always complained about anything and everything.

Life was good for Tosh and he began to forget about his humble beginnings. He enjoyed nothing more than visiting The Flying Arm Bar. After a long day he’d try his luck flirting with Pat while drinking cheap beers which, for the first time in his life, didn’t taste like a cocktail of petrol and piss.

The following years burned away without too much drama. However, Tosh received contact on his Skanna that his older brother Wensley the Nut had corked it after a freak accident with a hosepipe and a tub of grease.

Tosh decided to head back to the motherland, say his farewells to Wensley and see how the place had changed St to make himself feel better.

So when he came across Yan at the Boondocks border, the old buddies high-fived and arranged to meet up. After a night of reminiscing about the shit old times, Yan agreed to travel to the Pleasure Strip and see if he really could make a half decent life there. After Wensley’s funeral, the two buddies set off together.

They had absolutely no idea how their whole world was about to explode in their face like a whoopee cushion filled with human shit.

Preferred Weapon: Digi-gun. Looks good, sounds guff.

Favourite Boondocks recipe: Mama’s confit leg of roadkill hyena sautéed in wild garlic and served with a diesel jus.
