It will come as no surprise that Mickey P. came up with the gas junkie slang term. It’s also not particularly hard to decipher what it means.

A gas junkie is somebody who lives and dies for their state of the art automobile. They would even marry it if marriages were a thing in Cyberia. Instead they have to settle for some good old-fashioned romance and, if they’re lucky, some interesting foreplay.

Gas junkies are also prepared for getting augmentation surgery to improve their driving capabilities. This is important because there is no highway code in Cyberia and the vehicles are much faster than the cars which people drove around in the ’80s.
